Me, me, me…

Amidst shifting identities as a writer, ardent reader, horror-lover, psychologist, and full-time silly billy, Cyrus really doesn’t know how he balances them all. And yet, he insists he’s not indecisive! He lives for long hikes in the bush, year-round ocean swims, a (heart-to-)hearty yap, reading outside as the sun sets, and the anticipation before a good jump scare.

He also loves infusing his writing with that anticipation, that feeling of dread you just can’t shake, as well as creating complex worlds and characters that prooobably need a lot of therapy themselves (Transference? Don’t know her). A prior member of the Carindale Writer’s Group, he has published several spooky stories in their anthology 20/20 Vision Stories, in the Brisbane-based genre fiction ‘zine Gulp!, and recorded several others for the Brisbane Writer’s Group Podcast, available here.

After a year abroad and a two-year hiatus while he completed his studies, Cyrus has picked up his pen again and settled among the hills of southern Brisbane/Meanjin, living on the unceded land of the Jagera and Turrbal people. His current manuscript, Mortal Thoughts, is now seeking representation, and said pen is being put hard to work on a Fantasy series, coming soon!
